RECITAL TO-MORROW NIGHT. Auckland music-lovers are eagerly awaiting the recital to be given by Margherita Zelanda, the gifted Dunedin coloratura singer, in the Town Hall concert chamber to-morrow evening. Performances will also bo presented on Saturday and Tuesday evenings, the final one being held in the main Town Hall. The artist will bo remembered for the excellence of her singing at the recent radio exhibition. Possessed of a rich coloratura voice, Miss Zelanda is a pupil of tho bel canto school in Italy, having studied under Manlio Bavagnoli, one of Italy's greatest grand opera conductors. Her winning personality and stage presence, coupled with her fine voice, make Miss Zelanda an artist able to win tho rapt attention of the audience. She has an extensive repertoire, ranging from rollicking, simple ballads to difficult excerpts from grand opera. To-morrow evening's programme will include "Ave Maria," from Mascagni's "Cavalleria Rusticana," the Musetta Song from "La Bohemc" (Puccini), "Caro Mio Ben," by Giordani; Paisiello's "Nel Cor Pui non mi Sento"; tho "Sing! Break Into Song" of Mallinson; "Charmant Oiseau," from David's "Perle de Bresil"; "The Toll-tale Stars" (Tcherpnin) ; Liza Lehmann's " 'Oh, Bother,' Sang tho Thrush"; the "Philosophy" of Shaw; and "A Fairy Went a-Marketing," by Goodlieart.
