THE WHANGAREI CLUB. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI, Thursday. The annua] meeting of the Whangarei Rowine Club presided over by the president, Mr. R- H. Allen, was held last eveninn. The balance-sheet showed the club to be in a sound financial position, a profit of tin being made last year. The club subscription was reduced from :>!)s 6d to 255. The electio i of officers resulted :—Patron, the Hon. A. J. Murdoch; vice-presidents. Messrs. T. H. Steadman and R. G. Hoskmg; captain Mr. J. Burfoot; vice-captain. Mr C. Storey, secretary. Mr. M. Hammond: treasurer. Mr F. Pe.rkinson: auditor. Mr. A. D. Jack. TAURANGA CLUB. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. J TAURANGA, Thursday. About 10 members attended the annual meeting of the Tnuranga Rowing Hub. Mr. C. Tonkin presiding. The report showed that the season had been very successful. The finances were in a sound position, the excess of assets over liabilities being estimated at £359. The club was represented at the Tauranga, Hamilton, New Zealand championship. Auckland and Ngaruawahia regattas and local crews secured eight firsts, seven seconds and two thirds. W. lurner retained his title in the New Zealand championship single sculls, and with C. Haua won the double sculls championship. Officers were elected as follows: —Patron, Dr. J. B MacDiarmid; president. Mr. C. Tonkin; committee, Messrs. C. Cameron. W. Teasey, J. Berridge. G. Denniston, D. Cameron, R.. Mirrielees and Ward: cluD captain, Mr. C. Ilaua; vice-captain Mr. A. R. Cullimore; hon. audita.. Mr. B P Andrews; indue. Mr. W. S. Harris- starter. Mr Chatfield; treasurer. Mr. F. M. Rhodes, secretary, Mr G. L. Armitage; selectors, Messrs. C. Tonkin. C Haua and A K. Cullimore. , . The miniature cups, blazers and cans were presented to the winning crews The club has excellent prospects for another successful season. OPOTIKI CLUB. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKI. Thursday. The annual meeting of the Opotiki Rowing Club was well attended and presided over by Mr N Webb. The report, and balancesheet were adopted, the latter showing a credit balance of XG. The election of officers resulted: iiitron Mr H. Larmer; president. Mr. N. V Hodgson: starter, Mr. A. Stephenson; club captain. Mr. E. Webb; timekeeper. Mr. H. Larmer; treasurer, Mr. D. Pearse; secretary, Mr. P. J. Fox; committee, ex-officio members and Messrs. Mulhern and B. O. Manaell.
