Y.M.C.A. CLUB'S YEAR. That a satisfactory season had been experienced was shown by the report and bn!ance-«heet presented at the annual meetins of the Y.M.C.A. Cricket Club last evening. The report stated that although no outstanding successes had been accomplished. the five teams entered in the Auckland Cricket Association's competitions had obtained such good average positions _in their respective competitions that the Simmnnds Osborne Shield, for the champion ciub of the season, had been won by the club. The senior team had not. done as well as was expected of it, but the players were showing gradual improvement, and better performance were hoped for in the coming season. The small debit-balance shown by the balance-sheet was mainly owing to the purchase of new material. Sympathetic reference was made to the loss the club had suffered in the death of the late Mr. R. H. Riddolls and the late Mr. W. R. Ellingham. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect. The following officers were elected dent. Mr. J. Ambury: vice-presidents. Sir George Richardson. Messrs. The report presented at the annual meeting of the North Shore Cricket Club last evening stated that although the club was not successful in winning any championships during the season, the past year had proved fairly satisfactory. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of approximately £■2o. The Yercoe Cup for the nest, bowling performance in the senior A team was won for the third time in succession by w. J. Coates <T. T. Bush won Mr. Jackson s bat for the first Century. The grounds and wickets were in good order and should prove still better this season, as considerab.e work bad been carried out in eradicating the weeds from the whole area. The annual meetina of the Whangarei Cricket Club was held last, evening. Mr. H. Flewellyn presided over a good attendance. The balance-sheet, ehowed the finances of the club to be in a sound portion, in spite of heavy non-recurring expenditure last year. A remit to the Whangarei Cricket Association was carried that play be not later than 6.30 during the summer months. The election of officers resulted -Patron. Mr. R. Ormar.dy, president. Mr. N.
