YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH. Auckland.—Boisterous westerly weather prevailed yesterday. During the morning tho wind was blowing in frequent squalls, accompanied by heavy rain-showers, but the afternoon and evening were fine. There was a further rise of the barometer and the reading'last night was 29.90 in. Wellington.—Light rain fell practically continuously. There was no wind. The temperature was warmer than has been the case for some days. The evening was fine, but overcast. Christchurch.—Fine rain fell all the morning, but the afternoon was fine although overcast until about six o'clock, when rain set in again. The wind was fresh from the south-west and cold, the thermometer registering 48 degrees. Ihe barometer was rising slowly, the reading in the evening being 29.70 in. Dunedin.—There was a continuation of fine weather, with bright sunshine and a light breeze from the north-east. Th» barometer was rising and in the evening registered 29.80 in.
