ACCIDENTS AT TE PUKE.
TWO MOTORISTS INJURED. CATTLE DRIVER BREAKS LEG. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE PUKE, Monday. An accident occurred to Mr. George Blaymires as ho was driving home in a motor-car last night. He and Miss Johnston were passing Mr. G. H. Mends" residence on the Paengaroa Road, when Mr. Mends backed out in a motor-truck which collided with the car. Mr. Blaymires cut about th» face and Miss Johnston received bruises on the head. The car was badly damaged. A broken leg was suffered this morning by Mr. 11. J. Gill, a very old resident of the district. He was on horseback driving cattle on the Matai Road when his horse slipped on the clay surface and fell heavily npon him. Mr. Gill was attended by Dr. Randell. A young man, Mr. Robert Mutton, had a lucky escape from serious injury to-day. Ho was up a 50ft. pine tree, which had been partly chopped through, and was engaged in fixing a rope to the tree, when it fell, severely bruising him. Mr. Jack Bennett was riding a motorcycle home last evening when he collided with y a motor-car near Mr. Snodgrass' farnj. He received minor injuries.
