Mr. T. Adair, of Gisborne, is at t!i« Central Hotel. 3 Mr. J. N. Massey, M.P., returned to Wellington last evening. Mr. and Mrs.- W. B. Turvey, of Napier, are at the Star Hotel. "' Mr. S. W. Stilling, of the Australian Travel Bureau, is visiting the South Island. Mr. G. M. Griffiths, of Hamilton, and Mr. F. W. Bridger, of Opotiki, are at the Royal Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. J. Haggitfc,' of Dunedin, returned yesterday from a visit to Rotorua. They are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. J. 11. C. Bond, Dominion superintendent of the New Zealand Shipping Company, has left on a visit to Sydnev. Mr. J. A. Redpath, of Christchurch, Mr. J. J. Lewis, of Wellington, and Mr! W. N. Tangye, of Piako, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. A. W. Donald, of Auckland, who has been on a business trip to Norfolk Island and Sydney, returned by the steamer Morinda yesterday. Mr. T. W. McDonald has been appointed to represent the Wairarapa Ward on the Wellington Education Board. The vacancy was caused by the retirement of Mr. T. Wade. Sir George Fowlds left last evening for Palmerston North to attend a meeting of the council of Massey Agricultural College, which will be held to-morrow. Ho will return to Auckland on Thursday. Mr. B. F. Blackwell, of Sydney, is a passenger for Vila, New Hebrides, by the steamer Morinda, which arrived at Auckland yesterday. He will take up a position on the staff of the British Resident Commissioner on the island. Mr. J. A. C. Allum, chairman of the Auckland Transport Board, and Mr. A. E. Ford, manager, accompanied by Mr. ,1. Stanton, city solicitor, and Mr. G. Grey Campbell, left l,*st evening for Wellington on matters connected with the Transport Bill.
