DRAW AT SCARBOROUGH.

DOMINION CRICKETERS. TWO FINE CENTURIES. DEMPSTER AND BLUNT. FINAL FIRST-CLASS MATCH. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Special to N.Z. Press Association.) SCARBOROUGH, Sept. 11. The match between the New Zealand cricketers and Mr. Leveson-Gower's eleven at Scarborough ended to-day in a draw. There were 3090 spectators. Owing to excellent centuries by Dempster and Blunt the visitors made a fine recovery and when their second innings closed they were 164 runs ahead of their opponents, who batted 45 minutes and made 61 for three wickets. This was a fitting performance for the New Zealanders in the final first-class match of the tour. They batted in a true festival spirit, especially Dempster, who attacked the bowling from the start. He played delightful strokes in front of the wicket. He gave several chances, but these failed to mar his innings. Dempster batted 135 minutes and hit four sixes and 13 fours. Blunt was content to play second fiddle to Dempster, but he started after Dempster's dismissal, took the initiative and scored with ease and freedom. He employed a wide range of scoring strokes. He batted 214 minutes and hit two sixes and 11 fours. Both batsmen sacrificed their wickets. Talbot batted steadily. Ho continues to show improved defence. Owing to an injured ankle Larwood could not bowl and the attack was never dangerous. Tho English batsmen hit out in their second innings. Allen and Gilligan were caught by Lowry at forward leg and Brown in the outfield. Details of the scores are:—• NEW ZEALAND. First inning.'i , i .. . . « a. 217 Second Innings. Dempster, st F.
