TRADE WITH CANADA.
OBJECT OF AUSTRALIA. PREFERENCE TO EMPIRE. (Received September 11. 8.15 p.m.) OTTAWA, Sept. 10. A message from Reg in. a, Saskatchewan, says that in an address at. a dinner of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to-day Mr. A. L. Hyland, of the Australian trade delegation, urged stronger trade relations between Canada and Australia. Mr. Hyland assured Canadians that when Australia came to Canada in search of markets it was not with the idea of competing with her own products, but with those constantly purchased from foreign markets. ft. was an attempt to divert. Canadian buying from the Continent to the British Empire.
