RATES OF INTEREST. NEW BUSINESS DIVISION. SYDNEY, Sept. 3. The Commissioners of the Government Savings Bank have decided that the rates of interest for the now business division of the Savings Bank shall be 3£ per cent, up to £SOO and 3 per cent, from £SOO to £IOOO. Friendly societies' accounts will be allowed 3£ per cent, on all balances up to the amounts approved. Deposits made on Monday or Tuesday next will carry interest for the full month. There will be no fee for keeping accounts in the Rural Bank and new business division up to the end of December, 1931.
