DISEASE FEARED AT HANKOW. BUSINESS PARTIALLY RESUMED. SHANGHAI. Sept. 8. Hopes are being held out for the return of the Yangtse lliver to its normal level in three weeks. Firms whose buildings have not collapsed are endeavouring to resume business in tho upper floors. It is estimated that 10 days' pumping is necessary to drain the business district of Hankow. Elaborate preparations are in progress to combat epidemics. Thousands of corpses and carcases ' are being exposed as the water subsides.
