LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

MARIST PLAYS DEVONPORT.

The second round of the Auckland Rugby League's Roop© Rooster knock-out competition will be played to-morrow, when chief interest will centre in the meeting of Marist and Devonport. The match ia being staged at Carlaw Park at 3.15 p.m., and fast and exciting football should result. Devonport was runner-up to M prist in the senior championship, suffering its only two defeat# at the hands of the champions. Devonport made a great bid for victory in the second match and as the team is in good form at present Marist will be faced with strong opposition to-morrow. However, the champions have proved a fine, allround combination and are sure to be favourites for the match. The other match, between Richmond and Ponsonby, will be played aa a curtain-raiser, commencing at 1.45 p.m. Two reserve grade games will be played on the No. 2 -ground. Newton plays Marist at 1.45 p.m. and Richmond and Ponsonby will try conclusions at 3.15 p.m. Following are the teams:—
