RUGBY FOOTBALL.

REPRESENTATIVE FIXTURE. OTAGO VERSUS AUCKLAND. VISITORS ARRIVE TO-DAY.

One of the best Rugby matches of the season should be witnessed at Edon Park to-morrow, when <he Otago representatives will meet Auckland. The visitors will arrive at 6.30 this morning and will stay at tho Royal Hotel. There are twenty five in the touring party, under the managership of Messrs. D. Jolly and A. Haynes. To date the tourists have played two matches, being narrowly defeated by Wellington by 13 points to -11 and beating Manawhenua by 18 points to' 11. Their personnel includes several well-known players. Bush, tho ex-Aucklauder, who has been chosen to represent the All Blacks in the test mach against the Wallabies, will play fullback, and the team will bo captained by J. Hore, an All Black hooker, who played in the inter-island match this season. Another _ forward, R. Souter, toured Australia with the All Blacks in 1929. Other players include Fookes, centre or second five-eighths, who has a reputation an a player well above the average, and Allan, who played a fine game at centre in the inter-island match this season. Simon, the halfback, is said to be full of promise and played an outstanding gamo against Wellington. The team is a well-balanced combination, and, as usual with Otago teams, the forwards are fast and clever in tho loose, with a speedy rearguard. Tho wing-forward, V. Kavanaprh, is a representative cricketor. Few changes have been made in the Auckland team and it is pleasing to see Ilaslam gain a place at second five-eighths on account of his good defonce. In spite of the improvement shown by Jaruicson last Saturday against a weak Thames defence, he seems rather lucky to gain preference over Macindoe. Uadley.was unavailable owing to injuries.
