TAKANINI TRACK NEWS.

INTERESTING GALLOPS. BRONZE EAGLE'S v SPRINT. TEA TRADER AND SPEEDMINT. The outside of the middle crass track at Takanini was open for fast work yesterday, the weather being fine and the going good, although cutting up a little. White Wings (Mcllroy) was not hurried, but strode out nicely for the final three furlongs of her wbrk in 425. Bugle Call (Grice) went freely for three furlongs in 40 4-sa, Trustee (Mcllroy) taking 42 3-58 for tho same distance. Exaggeration (Taylor) and Holly Lu (Gilmer) showed dash in a three-furlongs sprint in 39 2-os, the pair being together throughout. Chief Jewel (Inglis), who is rounding into shape, went a round at half-pace, being given a short sprint in the straight, when he ran a furlong in 14s. Ganpat (Stewart) and Tea Chat (Bagby) ran half a mile in 525, tho last three furlongs taking 395. Ganpat was going nicely at the finish while Tea Chat, who had the worst of the weights, went a little better than usual.

Camp Prince (Leach) and Principal (Gilmer) were given a short sprint over three furlongs in 425. Neither has been in work a great length of time, but both show that they still retain their speed. High Comedy (Home) and Royal Artist (Walters) were given sound pace work over five furlongs, wit:, a sprint in the straight, their last two furlongs taking 27 3-ss. Both are in fine order for coming engagements. Refresher (Stewart) and Dominican (Inglis) jumped off smartly at the half-mile peg to run four furlongs in 53 2-ss. Dominican was kept up to his work, while Refresher was not unduly hurried. Amber Link (Forsyth) and Brazanna (rerne) went six furlongs, but passed the disc and were timed for only five furlong, which occupied 1.8 3-5, after running the first two furlongs in 26 3 •OS, JSrazanna showed most speed over the first lialf-milc, but Amber Link was too good for her at the finish

Tea Trader (Walters) and Spcedmint (Horne) got to the end of three furlongs in 40 3-ss. Tea Trader was anxious to increase the pace, while Speedmint. was not asked to do her best.

Clopton (Stewart) and Columba (Edwards) concluded their work with half a mile 111 57 3-ss. Both are furnishing nicely and should be capable of good showings in a few weeks.

The most interesting- gallop of the morning was that betwee-n Bronxe Eagle (Craig). Heremia (Mclnally), Lady Vano (Home) and Bell Topper (Gray), who jumped off at the half-mile peg. At the winning-peg Bell Topper was eased up, the other trio gomg on to complete five furlongs in 1.8 1-5. the half-mile taking S3 4-ss. Bronze Eagle was a length in front of Heremia at the finish, with Lady Van# a similar distance away. Catch 'Em (Feme) easily accounted for Lord "Willonyx (Forsyth) at the end of three furlongs in 40 3-ss. Vandyke (Gray) and Huntingdon (Craig) ran half a mile nicely in 53 l-ss. Both went pleasingly, as neither was asked to do his best. TE AWAMUTU HORSES. BIDDY'S BOY IN FORM. RETURN OF KARAPOTI. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTU. Thursday. The tracks were very heavy at Te Awamutu this morning but a lot of useful work was executed on the hurdle grass. Limeen (McKenzie) finished slightly in front of Aspian (Brown) after running'six furlongs in 1.23. They went very slowly over the first four furlongs but then clapped on the pace to run the last two furlongs in 25}s. Te Hoia (Orange) went lazily over five furlongs in 1.21, the last two taking 27 2-ss. Nothing strenuous has been asked of Te Hoia since racing at the Pakuranga meeting, but he is in first-class order and promises to run well at Avondale. Biddy's Boy (Smith) reeled off three furlongs iu 40 2-5». This brilliant ' galloper has gone on the right way since winning the sprint in Auckland and 'is in great order to tackle the champion hack race at the Avondale meeting. , . Leitrim (fiargraves) was under a steady pull while running two furlongs in 295. This horse, who returned from a spell looking big and healthy, is shaping up nicely and should not be long in returning to winning form. „ Te Homai (Mcßae) ran the first two furlongs in 27 2-5b and completed six furlongs in 1.22. Kingsway hit out freely over three furlongs in 39is. He appears to have benefited by his recent outing and may show to better advantage next time he is called upon to The Ce 'llluminati.on—Kiki gelding (Baker) led Shamgar (Thomas) in the early stages of a six-furlong eallcp, but Shamear finished strongly to be on terms when the post was reached, the time being 1.26 1-5. Lucidus (Orange) van five furlongs in 1.9. the last half qu'e taking 55}s . Karapoti (Smith), having his first sprint for some considerable time, was allowed to stretch out over two furlongs, but ho was not extended to run the distance- in «6 2-os. He looks particxdarly blight and has benefited by his spell. He may again be the outstanding horse of the Dominion this season. Loombination (Goldfinch) and Ennation (Wilson) cantered round twice, each* time sprinting up the straight, Loombination displayed far too muoh speed for his companion and is a two-year-old with a very promising future, ,l„„» Bed Lion (Smith) was timed to run three furlongs in 42 l-ss. Although this horse bled at his last start in Auckland he appears to have made a pood recovery and is working in good style again. ... ~ Taurua (Orange), who revels in the eott. going, moved more freely than usual over two furlongs in 27 3-&s. , All Soult (Baker) was gome better than P V Swney's St. Amane gelding (uold. finch) at the end of four furlongs in 54is. \ll Soult is a much-improved horse and should be a stake-earner this season. I'rotomint (Rowan) ran the first two furlongs in 30is and completed six furlongs in 128 1-5: Protornint is a lazy track-worker and doea not show anywhere near his best unless kept up to his work with a stick. Sea Ruler (Smith) and Miss Linley (Orange) ran four furlongs ip 555. Both ot these juveniles, who are well forward, worked nicely without being unduly bustled. Supremacy and Koyal Ruler were restricted to three-quarter pacework over six furlongs, while Motere and Marechal were sent a furlong further.
