CONFESSION OF THEFT.

MONEY NOT MISSING. 1 YOUTH'S STATEMENT DENIED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. An extraordinary story was told Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Police Court to-day, when a youth was charged with the /theft of moneys belonging to an inBurance firm, where he was employed, and a sports club, of which he was secretary. The police said the youth had come to the station and made a voluntary statement confessing the thefts, but the other parties denied that any money was missing, and no complaints had been received. The youth was a decent lad, but evidently there was weakness. The case was adjourned to enable the magistrate to interview the youth.
