TWO WOMEN IN COURT.

CHARGES OF VAGRANCY. REMANDED FOR SENTENCE. Two women, Catherine Nesbit, aljas McDonald, aged 33, and Jean Millard, alias Allen, aged 41, appeared in the Police Court yesterday, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., charged- with being rogues £iid vagabonds and consorting with undesirables. Mrl Noble, who represented Nesbit, Entered a plea of not guilty. Constable Christiansen said he had kept accused under observation for some time 'ind she had been drinking and consorting with undesirables. The Magistrate: Drink seems to be her frouble. i, Mr. Noble: I suppose there are ladies' bars in these hotels? The Magistrate: That is the enrse of the places. Mr. Noble, said accused was a married •woman living with her husband. She had •visited hotels where there were other ;women, but had not consorted with them. Afccused was remanded for a week for sentence. . Mr. Aekins appeared for Millard, who was also charged with being drunk in Karangahape ' Road on Wednesday. He entered pleas of guilty. Accused was fined ss, in default 24 hours' imprisonment, for drunkenness, and was remanded for a week for sentence on the other charge.
