ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.

INSPECTION OF RESERVE. KING'S INTEREST IN ORDER. The district commissioner of the St. John Ambulance, Mr. C. J. Tunks, attended by his staff officers, visited th i National Reserve Ambulance Division, the headquarters of which are at. Epiphany Hall, Newton, and conducted his annual inspection on Monday evening. There were aboqt 40 officers and inen on parade and also a number of probationers a.nd cadets. Various drills, stretcher exercises, etc., were undertaken, and uniforms, equipment and stores were inspected. Ttoi commissioner expressed his satisfaction \spth the raumber and appearance of members on parade and also with the quantity and condition of the equipment and stores. He read a number of extracts and commented at length on them from the cen tenary number of the St. John Ambu> lance Gazette, which described the recen l impressivfi ceremonies in which the King, patron and sovereign head of the order, took great part, and stressed the necessity for upholding the traditions of thij order. The officers accompanying Mr. funk't were Assistant-Commissioner F. J. Hutch inson; District Superintendent A. W, Probert, and Corps Officers U. Hitchon and Potter.
