In the lawn tennis championships at Brookline to-day, in the' mixed double# in the semi-finals Miss Nuthall and Lott defeated Mrs. Shepherd Barron and Hughes, 4—6, 6—l, 6—4. In the prior round Mrs. Harper and Allison defeated Mr. and Mrs. Van Rvn, 6—l, 5—7, 6—4; Mrs. Pittman and Keith Gledhill defeated Mrs. Whittingstall and Sidney Wood, 6—l, 6 —3. Mrs. Pittman and Gledhill had defeated Miss Mudford and Perry, 9—7, 6—4.

LONG-DISTANCE SWIM. WOMEN'S EVENT AT TORONTO. (Received August 30, 5.5 p.m.) TORONTO. August 29. M.sii Margaret Ravior, of Philadelphia, won the women's 10-miles swim yesterday for the second year in succession. Her time was 4h 56m 44 2-ss. Miss Ravior wins £IOOO of the prize money of £2OOO. Mrs. E. H. Gary (New York) was second and Miss Ethel McGarry (New York) third. LONG-DISTANCE WALKING, NEW SOUTH WALES TITLE. (Received August 00, 7.5 p.m.) v SYDNEY. August 30. The 50 kilometres walking championship of New South Wales was won by G. A. Smith (New South Wales) in 5h 7m 2s. W. J; Clark (Randwick), with 5h 23m 255, was second, and C. W. Grigg (Queensland), with 5h 31m 265, third. There were seven competitors. A strong wind hampered the'men. ROAD CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN EVENT. (Received August 30, 7.5 p.m.) ADELAIDE, August 30. J. Buckley (New South Wales) won the 100 miles senior road cycling championship in 5h 7m 50s, Goiild (Marrickville), with 5h 14m 40s, was second, and Herraman (South Australia), with 5h 20m 475, third.
