SECOND MAN SENTENCED. EFFORT TO, RECOVER PROPERTY. * [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION*.] DUNEDIN, Saturday. For breaking, entering and theft by day in connection with the sensational robbery of £3OOO worth of jewellery from a city shop for which another man is serving a sentence, William Newton was to-day sentenced to three years and six months' imprisonment. In this case the Judge previously granted the unusual request of the prisoner that he should be allowed to assist the police to recover the jewellery. The Crown intimated that only £l5O worth of jewellery had been recovered.
