CHIEF OF ODDFELLOWS.
SHORT STAY IN AUCKLAND.
Bro. L. Deans Ritchie, Grand Sire of Australasia of the Independent Order of Oddfellows, will arrive to-day by the Niagara from Sydney on his way to Vancouver. Bro. Ritchie, whose home is in Dunedin, is passing through Auckland on his way to Canada, where he will attend the session of the Sovereign Grand Lodgo of the 1.0.0. F. Bro. Ritchie is well known in New Zealand friendly society circles as a forceful personality and an able speaker. He was in Auckland last March to attend the session of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. A farewell social will be held in the Masonic Hall this evening in honour of Bro. and Mrs. Ritchie. They will continue their voyago to-morrow.
