NEW TOWN CLERK.
MOUNT ALBERT APPOINTMENT
At a special meeting of the' Mount Albert Borough Council on Saturday evening, Mr. T. R. Congalton, public accountant, of Stewart's Road, Mount Albert, was appointed town clerk to succeed Mr. H. Utting, who will retire on September 30. Mr. Congalton, who is an associated public accountant, and an associate of the Incorporated Institute of Secretaries, was selected by ballot, from the six applicants for tho position who had been personally interviewed by the council. Altogether, 87 applications were received for the position. Mr. Congalton was the managing secretary of the Franklin Electrical Supply and Trading Company, Limited, prior to its sale to the Franklin Power Board. has since been engaged in commercial work, and latterly has been practising on his ,own , account as a, public , accpiintant and auditor in Auckland. Ho is a Returned soldier with four years' service, a,nd is 39 years of ags.
