STRUCK BY FALLING ROCK.
INJURIES TO LABOURER. ACCIDENT AT ARAPUNI. [from our own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Friday. Fractures of the leg and arm were received by Mr. William McAleece, a labourer employed by the Public Works Departments as the result of being caught in a fall of rock near the Arapuni dam yesterday afternoon. Mr. McAleece was working in an excavation, when, without warning, a quantity of rock above him became dislodged. He was unable to jump clear and was thrown heavily to the ground. The Waikato Hospital • ambulance left for Arapuni early.- this -morning and brought the injured man to Hamilton. His condition is reported to be satisfactory.
