DANCE AT PONGAKAWA.
The Pongakawa settlers celebrated the opening of their new ball on Thursday evening, -with a concert and clance. The stage "was decorated "with nikau palms and pun gas, and from the roof were draped hundreds of yellow and black streamers. The music was supplied by the South Sea Four Orchestra, and extras were played bv Misses Morris, Heerdegen, Mrs. Riddell and Mr. Parsley. Those present at the dance were:—Mesdames Riddell, Mahoney, Washer, Martin, Shaw, Reynolds, Cooney, Johnston, Collins, Clements, Simpson, Wilkie, M Wilkms, Gun ton, Matthews, Hickson, Misses G. Cuff, O'Reilly, Vercoe, A. Mutton, L Prentis, B. Howell, D. Sykes, E. Sykes, A. Clements, M. Wilson, B. Wilson, M Place, E. Pearce, Bear, D. Heerdegen. N. Mundt, A. Riddell, Rhodes, Martin. L Tanner, 8. Ball, J. Benner, N. Snodgrass, E. Morton, S. Wilson, Singleton, Drabble, Watson.
