ENGINE-DRIVER KILLED.

COLLISION IN AUSTRALIA. PASSENGERS NOT INJURED. PERTH, August 17. A goods train crashed head-on into a passenger train at Mount Helena. The driver of the goods train, seeing a crash was inevitable, attempted to leap to safety, but he was caught under his train and decapitated among tho wreckage. Eight trucks were derailed, and six of them were splintered to matchwood. The passenger train escaped undamaged.
