Holland, Lender of tho Labour Party and member for Bullor, After apologising for the unavoidable absence of the Minister of Education, Hon. H. A ( more, Mr. Holland said every one of the great social services of the Dominion was of extreme importance, but none greater than education. Educated citizenship was always the nation's best asset and it was the nation's duty to see that the widest posßiblo rnngo was given to tho work of tho educationalists. To this end, said Mr. Holland, there should be a general aversion to any line of policy that might tend to sacrifice the efficiency of the national system of education to what inight be considered cxi gencies of the financial situation.
