BUILDING REGULATIONS.

PRESENT BILL OPPOSED. CRITICISM BY ARCHITECTS. A special committee set up by the .Auckland branch of tho New Zealand Institute of Architects is at present formulating constructive proposals to bo submitted to tho Government in connection with tho Building Regulations Bill. The bill has been considered by a. meeting of architects, which expressed the opinion that the bill as at present drafted was defective. In order to formulate constructive criticism tho committeo was set up, while telegrams were despatched yesterday to the Prime Minister and the Leaders of the Reform and Labour Parties asking that consideration of tho present bill should be deferred. The bill has also been criticised by members of the Auckland Builders and Contractors' Association. At a meeting it was decided to oppose tho measure strongly and a committee was set up to act in conjunction with other bodies in a combined protest to the Government.
