LOAN BILL PASSES SENATE. REDUCTION IN SALARIES. CANBERRA. July IS. The Senate has passed the Appropriation Bill, authorising a loan of £15,000,000 to help to cover the Budget deficit. ' The Senate's amendments to the Federal Emergency Bill have been agreed to by the House of Representatives. As a result the cuts in pensions and in the salaries of Commonwealth public servants will come into operation next pay day.
