CITY MOTHERS' LEAGUE.

Of particular interest to mothers was the monthly meeting of the City branch of the League of Mothers, which was held in tho Airedale Mission Ilall yesterday afternoon, and over which the president., Mrs. P. A. Lindsay, presided. Mrs. A. M. Ferguson, provincial president of the league, paid her first visit to the City branch, and in a brief address referred to tho speech on the sanctity of marriage made by His Excellency Lord Bledisloe, at a mass meeting of the League of Mothers held in Wellington last week. A collection of books and magazines was shown to those prosent by ftjrs A. D. Campbell as an instance of the work done by tho women of Auckland for those living in isolation in tho back blocl/s of New Zealand. Songs by Miss Naneye Hanna were very much enjoyed, and afternoon tea was served by tho ladies' committee.
