LANG AND COUNCIL.
NEW TAXATION BILL. FURTHER LEVY ON INCOMES. SYDNEY. July 14. The Sydney Morning Herald says one of the measures which Mr. Lang's. Government intends to bring down as a challenge to the Legislative Council is an amended emergency taxation scheme, which will provide for a tax of 2s 6d or 3s in the pound on incomes of £SOO a year and over.
