COLLISION WITH MOTOR-CAR
A collision between a school motor-bus and a motor-car at Drury yesterday morning resulted in the capsize of the bus and the admission to the Auckland Hospital in a serious condition of one of 12 school children who were thrown on the roadway. Clifford McDonald, aged 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. McDonald, of Runciman, received a fracture of the pelvis when he was crushed by the overturned bus. Dr. G. W. Lock, of Papakura, attended the boy and several other children who received bruises and abrasions, and the Auckland Hospital ambulance brought McDonald to the city shortly after noon. The bus, a light vehicle, was driven by Mr. J. T. Reid, of Runciman, and was making its usual trip to the Drary school with children from the Ramarama and Runciman districts. It had just crossed a bridge outside Drury when the collision occurred with a motor-car being driven by Mr. W. A. McDonald from Auckland to Arapuni. The children were thrown out of the bus as it capsized, several being fortunate in escaping more serious injury. The condition of the boy McDonald was reported to be stiJl serious last evening.
