THE TAXATION OF WOMEN.
Sir, —Under the above heading in your issue of Friday last you say that unemployed women cannot claim more certain assurance than unemployed men. No, decidedly not. But in the event of thpir being taxed, is there any reason why they should not claim tho same? No sentimental considerations should deter tho Government from taxing women equally with mon. Sentimentality is a false attitude, which often tends to devolop into an extraordinary callousness toward the objects of its original devotion. If women are to bo taxed equally with mon, which they should be, they should receive equal consideration. Fair Play.
