THEFT OF HANDBAG.
OFFENCE BY YOUNG WOMAN. FURTHER CHARGES PENDING. A plea of guilty was entered by Violet Ivanhoe, aged 27, waitress, when charged in the Police Court yesterday with the theft of a handbag and contents, valued at £7. The offence was committed on June 30.
-• In applying for a remand, DetectiveSergeant Kelly said accused was alleged to have stolen many handbags from city stores during the last few weeks. The police had traced 11 bags to accused and desired to make further inquiries.
The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, re manded accused in custody until Monday,
