AUCKLAND ROTARY CLUB.
WEEKLY LUNCHEON HELD/ The weekly luncheon of the Auckland Rotary Club was held in Milne and Choyce's Reception Ilall yesterday, the newly elected president, Mr. H. T. Goldie, presiding over a largo attendance. The speaker for the day was Sir W. Lenno.i Raws, managing director of Imperial Chemical Industries (Australia and New Zealand), Limited, who addressed members on " The Present Condition of Australia." At tho conclusion of the address a vote of thanks to the speaker was carried on the motion of Mr. A. F. Ellis.
The. president moved a resolution of sympathy with Mr. T. A. Low upon the death of his wife. The members stood' in silence during the carrying of the resolution.
Among the visitors to tho club were Mr. J, M. McFarlane, Mr. F. G. Stephens and Mr. H. H. Gaze, of Melbourne, Mr. A. B. S. Owen, of Sydney, Mr. T. D. Barker, of Cliristcliurch, and Mr. D. A. The annual meeting of tho Hamilton Rotary Club was held to-day, the new president, Mr. A. B. Collier, occupying the chair.
On the motion of Dr. H. Douglas, it was decided to reduce (lie admission fee lo £1 Is and the membership fee lo £3 3s. Dr. Douglas stated that it cost £l2 a year to be a member of the club, and it was desirable that no members should be lost through financial stringency. Tiie election of the following officers was confirmed: —President, Mr. A. B„ Collier; vice-president, Mr. T. I>. Booth; immediate past president, Dr. 11. Douglas; directors, Messrs. G. W. Armstrong, F. Beolian, F. J. Moore, W. J. Stevens; custodian, Mr. R. E. Oonradi; sergeant-at-arms, the Rev. G. H. Gilbert; deputy sergeant-at-arms, Mr. N. J. Holden; lion, secretary, Mr. Carrick Nisbet; hon. treasurer, Mr. K. G. Paterson.
