ASHORE AT WAIHEKE.

DRIFTS TO PALM BEACH.

The fishing, launch Sea .Hawk, which was. abandoned tin the Hauraki Gulf on Wednesday morning,', drifted ashore at Palm Beach, Waiheke, on Thursday. Advice to,that effect was received at Auckland by the police yesterday.

The launch left. Great Barrier Island for Auckland on Tuesday morning with Messrs. J. Holt, D. Miller and W. B. Stanley on board. The same afternoon the engine broke down and could not be started again. The three men had a very anxious time in a rough sea until they were rescued at*2 a.m. on Wednesday by the trawler Thomas Currell. The launch broke away and disappeared in the darkness. It is not known whether she was damaged when she, went ashore at Waiheke.
