LIVE-PIGEON SHOOTING.
GUN CLUB'S TOURNAMENT. PROTEST BY CHURCHMEN. [from our own correspondent.] * HAMILTON, Friday. A resolution protesting against the shooting of live pigeons at gun club contests was passed _.at a meeting of . the Hamilton Ministers' Association. The meeting expressed anger and disgust at the destruction of 2000 pigeons and sparrows at the New Zealand Gun Club Association's tournament at Ruakura,. and decided to urge the Government .to'. take steps to prevent a recurrence at future competitions. The resolution is to he forwarded to the Government and to: members of Parliament.
A similar resolution was passed by the Waikato Presbytery.
