SCHNEIDER CUP RACE.
NO FOREIGN COMPETITORS. STATEMENT IN NEWSPAPER. (Received June 10, 7.55 p.m.) LONDON, June 16. The Paris correspondent of tho Daily Herald says he can state authoritatively that neither French nor Italian aeroplanes will compete for the Schneider Cup, which will go to Britain by default. The French entry is regarded as a joke, as the only available aeroplanes were built in 1926, and are slow compared with tho British machines. They are also regarded as dangerous. Italy will be unable to complete the new Fiat engines in time for tho race. In these circumstances Britain will win tho cup outright by simply flying over tho course.
