GARDENING CIRCLE.
A large number of the Lyceum Club gardening circle and their friends met at the old Choral Hall yesterday morning, where Mr. Lancaster addressed them on the many wonderful gardens he had visited in different parts of the world. Sydney, Melbourne, Colombo, London, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast, and Capetown were all visited, and some very interesting lantern slides illustrating many beautiful and unique gardens were shown. After the address Mr. Lancaster escorted the members . around the university gardens and described many rare plants to them. Next month Mr. R. A. Falla will speak on New Zealand birds. Among those present were: Mesdames Howard, Dickenson, Hammond, Hyde, Douglas, Clinch, De Guerrier, Angwin, Anderson, Harper, MacMorran, Stewart, Stubbs, Hewlett, Pascoe, Nutter, Fuller, Clark, Walker, Bloomfield, Clinch, Rapson, Whitley, Metcalf, Facwett, Fleming, Drury, Ely, Irwin, Mcßride, Clarke, Talbot, Loosemore, Stanley, Harrison, McGregor, Shaw and Cleal, Misses Rishworth, King, Rennell, Mac Donald, Seideberg, Lavers, Spicer and Dr. Gladys Rowley.
