NOVEL APPLE DUMPLINGS.

Mako a syrup by boiling together one cupful su;2jar, one tablespoonful butter, three cupfuls peeled and cut up apples (Alb.), anci one cup water. Mix ono heaped cupful flour, two teaspoonfuis baking powder, a little salt, and three-qnaiters cupful milk. Divide into eight dumplings and drop them into the boiling syrup.
