RUSSIAN TOFFEE.

Melt lib. of whito sugar, half a teacupful of syrup, half a teacupl'ul of condensed milk, half a cupful of ordinary milk, and a gib. of butter; boil this until it becomes fit to make a soft ball when a little is dropped in cold water. Then add a teaspoonful of vanilla 1 essence, stir well and mark neat squares immediately after pouring into a buttered tin.
