THE CONQUEROR'S MEN.

COMING VISIT TO FRANCE. No fewer than 160 American descendants of the knights and nobles who " came over " with William tho Conqueror will accompany the British descendants when tho party organised by tho United Associations of Great Britain and France visits Falaiso for tho " William the Conqueror Fetes " next month. Lord Derby, who is president of tho associations, will head the party, which includes Lady Malcolm of Poltalloch, who descends, through her mother, from Le Breton—Lady Malcolm's mother, Mrs. Lily Langtry, afterwards Lady de Bathe, was a daughter of Dean le Breton of Jersey—Sir Alfred Bower, Bt., formerly Lord Mayor of London, who descends from Michael do Bure; Lord Treowen, whose ancestor was Herbert, Count of Vermandois; and the Countess of Verulam. All claims to descent have been submitted to Professor Macary, tho eminent French historian, at Falaise. The main ceremony will be the unveiling on Sunday, Juno 21, of the bronze tablet to the memory of the Conqueror's companions. This tablet, tho cost of which has been subscribed from all parts of Great Britain and the United Statos, is to be erected in the keep of the castle of Falaise. It weighs a ton and a-half.
