At tho Epsom Summer Meeting to-day the leading event resulted as follows: THE DERBY STAKES, W £IOO each, with £3OOO added; for entire cnlts and fillies three years old; colts 9.0, fillies 8.9; about li, miles. CAMERONIAN, Mr. J. A. Dewar's, b c, by Pharos—Una Cameron . 1 ORPEN, Sir John Rutherford's, b c, by Solario—Harpy 2 SANDWICH, Lord Rosebery's b c by Sansovino —Waffles . . .. 3 There were 27 starters left in the race. Cameronian was favourite and Pomme d'Api and Doctor Dolittle were joint second favourites. Tho Cornte do Ferol's I'oker d'As and Mr. W. M. Singer's Link Boy were scratched yesterday. Crowds gathered at vantage points on Epsom Downs for 24 hours before the Derby, including numerous Gipsy caravans, some carrying old familiar faces. The Downs presented a picturesque sight at nightfall, when camp-fires were lighted by those who were sleeping out. Swings, roundabouts and side shows, however, were in full blast all night. Curzon's Call Boy. 1928 —Sir IT. Gnnliffe-Owen's Fclstead. 1929—Mr. W. Barnett's Trigo. 1930—The Aga Khan's Blenheim. DINNER AT PALACE. JOCKEY CLUB GUESTS. ROYAL TRIP TO THE RACES. (Received June 3. 10.!! p.m.) LONDON, June 3. Owing to its being the King's Birthday to-day His Majesty gave his usual dinner to the Jockey Club at Buckingham Palace last evening. The tables were decorated with scarlet and yellow flowers, tho King's own racing colours, instead of j those of the winners of the Derby. Their Majesties intended to motor to Epsom at noon. The Prince of Wales and theDuke and Duchess of York were also to bo present. WIN FOR EX-KING. HOSPITAL SWEEPSTAKE. ALFONSO DRAWS £IOO. LONDON, June 2. Ex-King Alfonso of Spain won £IOO in tho Irish hospital sweepstako on the Derby.
