GENERAL ELECTION.
WELLINGTON NORTH SEAT.
MR. G. A. TROUP FOR REFORM. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Air. G. A. Troup, former Mayor of Wellington, who was previously announced as an Independent candidate for the Wellington North seat at the general election, has been chosen as the Reform candidate for that constituency. Other candidates so far announced for the seat are Sir John Luke, who previously held the seat as a Reform member and who will stand as Independent this year, and the sitting Labour member, Mr. C. H. Chapman. The official selection of Reform candidates for various Wellington provincial constituencies will be made within the next week or two. It is understood that the names of four aspirants for the Motueka, seat will go to the ballot shortly.
