NURSES' EVENING.
Miss Bicknell, ex-matron-in-chief of the New Zealand Nursing Services, was tho guest cf honour at an evening held at the Nurses' Club yesterday by the Auckland branch oi the New Zealand Trained Nurses' Association. The rooms looked very bright and attractive with bowls of chrysanthemums and other winter flowers and later in the evening supper _ was served in the lounge. The president of tho branch, Mrs. Alfred Kidd, with Miss Houchen. received, wearing a frock of black georgette with coatee to tone. Miss Bicknell wore a frock of black triplo ninon, and Miss Houchcn was in a frock of black georgette. A brief speech of welcome to tho guest of honour was made by Mrs. Kidd, to which tho former made a brief reply. Musical items, the production of a short play, songs, competitions and charades were very much enjoyed. The gathering included 'members of tho council, of tho association and ex-nurses.
