BUILDING CONTRACTS.
DELAY IN COMMENCEMENT. A QUESTION OF WAGES. [bt telegraph.—own correspondent.] DTJNEDIN, Monday. Several building contracts are held up awaiting the decision of the Arbitration Court on the reduction of wages question. The view is expressed that it •would be a great stimulus to the building business if the rate of interest on Government bonds and other gilt-edged securities was reduced even by 5 per cent., since such a lowering would divert money into industry.
