SCHEME MAY BE DROPPED. INTERNAL LOAN POSSIBLE. (Received Ma-" 10. 5.-15 p.m.) SYDNEY. May 10. The Canberra correspondent of tho Sun says hints in Ministerial circles suggest that the Scullin Government may drop tho fiduciary notes issue proposal owing to blunt warnings from'its followers, who have returned from the electorates, that it would be a disastrous one on which to fight an election at present. It is believed that Mr. Scullin and Mr. Theodoro may offer to unito with the State Premiers in raising a loan within tho Commonwealth as an alternative to tho fiduciary note scheme.
ME. SCUILIN'S DENIAL. ADHERENCE TO POLICY. NOT MANOEUVRING FOR OFFICE. (Received May 10, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE. May 10. The Trimo Minister, Mr. Scullin, denies a published statement to the effect that his Government is manoeuvring to remain in office. He says its policy will bo pursued and if it is frustrated by the Senate an appeal will be made to the country after a double dissolution.
