As (he result of a train and a motorcar colliding at the Heretaunga crossing shortly before eleven o'clock last night, Mr. George Dow, who is believed to be a warder at the Wi Tako prison, and his wife were admitted to hospital. The husband had his left arm injured and a punctured wound on his forehead. Mrs. Dow was suffering from scalp wounds and from concussion.
Both had an astonishing escape from death. The train caught (ho car broadside on, smashing in its side. The car somersaulted, and its two occupants were flung out.
