SEASIDE BOARDING HOUSE.
OLD BUILDING BURNS QUICKLY.

A seaside boarding house of 30 rooms at Brighton, owned by Mrs. Nicholson, was destroyed by fire last evening. The building was a wooden one, 50 years old, and it was gutted in half an hour. A large proportion of the contents were destroyed. X The building was insured for £llOO and the contents for £SOO. HOUSE AT TE PUKE. PRACTICALLY NOTHING SAVED. [from ottr own correspondent.] TE PUKE, Sunday. A fire at 8.20 o'clock last evening gutted the interior of a small house owned by Mr. W. G. Osborne and occupied by Mr. L. Gee. The brigade had difficulty in finding the fire plug and only two pieces of furniture were saved.
There was no occupant of the house at the time of the outbreak, which commenced in a hot water cupboard. There wero no insurances.
