HAURAKI BY-ELECTION.
SUPPORT FOR MR. MASSEY. ENDORSEMENT AT HOWICK. The decision of the Pokeno conference of Reform Party delegates in selecting Mr. W. W. Massey as the party's candidate for tho vacant Hauraki scat in tho House of Representatives was endorsed at a meeting of Reform supporters held in the Howick Public Hall on Friday evening. Mr. Massey and Mr. B. Gordon Edwards were in attendance. In returning thanks for the confidence expressed in him, Mr. Massey referred to the loss sustained by the electorate in the death of the late member, Mr. A. W. Hall, and said he had lost a life-long friend and' comrade. It was only after very careful consideration that lie had decided to accept nomination. However, now he was in the field, the stronger the fight the better he would like it, provided that the fight was a clean one. Delegates, representatives and committees were appointed to carry out all necessary arrangements in the interests of tlie candidate in the Howick, Fakuranga, BucklamKs Beafcli, Whitford anil Maraetai districts.
