THE HARBOUR BRIDGE.
ATTITUDE OF NORTHCOTE. FAVOURABLE TO SCHEME. The North Shore member of the Auckland Harbour Hoard. Mr. 'A. E. Green slade, speaking on Saturday in reference to the board's attitude toward the harbour bridge, said it was definitely favourable. The board had adopted the recommendations of the Harbour Bridge Commission regarding the site, design of the bridge, and the longitudinal and vertical clearances of the navigation span of the bridge. The safeguards for shipping were also accepted by the company, so that there was now no diversity of opinion regarding the points of policy between the board and the company.
As Mayor of N'orthcoto, Mr. Greenslade also stated that the principal amendments suggested by his council were accepted by the company, arid the council was awaiting notification from its legal adviser that these had been put into proper form, when final approval of the Bill would be given.
