THREE DAY CRUISES.
SHIPS CARRYING LIQUOR. LARGE LINERS EMPLOYED. NEW YORK. April IG. Cruises, for three days to nowhere, up and down the open Atlantic, are responsible for a great rate-cutting war among the shipping companies. The American Shipowners' Association has sent a delegation to Congress, to demand special taxation against British liners which alone operate this special thirstquenching service. Tlio Aquitania, Berengaria and Mauretania are all scheduled for " nowhere" trips, but now the Red Star Line announces that its steamer Bergenland has been withdrawn from the transatlantic service in order to ply between New York and Halifax. Sho has six beautiful bars and an out-door swimming pool bordered by real sand brought from Oslend, and will be used for these three-day cruises.
