PROFIT ON TRAMWAYS.
BUSES SHOW HEAVY LOSS.
WELLINGTON CITY TRANSPORT.

City tramway an'd bus figures presented to the City Council show that tho tramways made a net profit on the year's running of £9452, while buses showed a loss of £12,933.
A profit of £55,585 is shown on the year's working, of tho municipal electric light department.
POSITION IN CHRISTGHTIRCH. REVENUE SHOWS DECREASE. The financial results of the operating of the Christ church tramways for the year 1930-31 are not yet available, but Mr. D. Sykes, nt the board's meeting this week said that the board's revenue for the last financial year was £20,000 less than it was for tho previous financial year Referring to tho matter later, Mr. E. H. Andrews, the chairman of tho board, told a reporter that while Mr. Sykes* statement was perfectly correct, it, might mislead the public. While the revenue for the past financial year as regards tram and bus operation had decreased by £20,000, operating expenses also had decreased and in conjunction with increases in receipts under other headings, a small surplus was shown.
